Chief Grovo came in and had a discussion with the Board about computer hardware and software upgrades to make sure they know what his needs are because Windows XP will not be supported after April 8.

        Review of Correspondence

  • Emails from Chris Lockwood, Exec. Dir. Maine Municipal Association – Revenue Sharing Campaign
Selectman Burns talked about Revenue Sharing legislation LR 2721and the campaign initiated by Maine Municipal that starts this weekend.  He read information about it and informed people that the Board is posting a link on the Town’s web site that will take them to the Ad.  He encouraged everyone to contact their Legislators and ask them to pass this Bill.  He said that t he Bill came out of Committee with a unanimous “out to pass” vote.  It then became LD 2721 that will be voted on by the full House & Senate.  Selectman Burns encouraged people to please support this Bill so that they will not take another $40 million from Revenue Sharing.  Revenue Sharing should be $146 million for the 2015 budget but if this Bill does not pass it is only going to be $20 million for all municipalities.
  • Email from Jan Hill, President, Buxton-Hollis Historical Society – Re:  February issue of Maine Archives and Museum Newsletter relative to Elden Store Renovation
  • Letter from Barbara Wentworth, President, United Way of York County – Re:  Donation for fuel assistance from Keep ME Warm ($300)

  • Review of Projects and Issues
Selectman Harmon reported she has been working on budgets.  She was here last Friday for a meeting with Tripp Technologies to go over what our computer needs may be for the XP conversion that we are going to be doing.  One of the components of this is that we have to upgrade and replace some of our hardware as well.  We do not have enough money for that in our operating budget so the Board will probably be having a Special Town Meeting once they get a firmer idea of what the cost will be.

Selectman Harmon was here yesterday for the OTT demonstration on a new phone system.  She said there are concerns from the Police Department and the Fire Departments about going completely away from copper lines to this new system so there are still some things to work out.  The new phones look much like the old phones but they have greater features

Selectman Harmon went to the Budget Committee Meeting last night.  The Committee started meeting with non-profit, charitable organizations.  They had a full agenda and went through that very quickly.

Selectman Burns reported that he was in last Thursday.  He worked on budgets in the morning and then in the evening he and Selectman Booker attended the SAD 6 Budget Advisory Committee Meeting.  Those meetings will be every Thursday night and they last a couple of hours each time.  Selectman Burns came in on Friday for the meeting with Tripp Technology.  He was also in for the OTT demonstration and met with a couple of Department Heads about some needs for Municipal building repairs.  Selectman Burns is still working on some of his budgets.

Selectman Booker mentioned that she attended the Budget Advisory Committee meeting and the meeting with Tripp Technology.  She said it was a lengthy meeting but very informational.  Selectman Booker is also working on some of the budget pieces that she has to do.
